Many people involved in altruistic projects have found they have similar needs when it comes to mental health support. For example, many people in the effective altruism community are looking for a provider who's experienced in working with analytical types, is comfortable discussing the evidence base for an approach, etc. This site exists to help people find providers, coaches, and EA-related mental health content.

Some providers and coaches on the tables specialize in working with people in the effective altruism community; you can find them by filtering by "Effective altruists" under "Populations they specialize in." Note that there are pros and cons to seeing someone active in the same community as you, and you may wish to find a provider who's recommended by others but not themselves involved in the community.

We do not provide screening of providers and coaches listed, or of information in reviews. We're just providing a place where community members can point each other to providers to consider. Please use your judgment when selecting someone to work with! It's normal and recommended to change providers if you don't feel there's a good fit.

MentNav, our sister site, offers a library of general mental health resources.

This website has been a joint effort by many people over time, particularly Danica Wilbanks and Emily Jennings. It's currently run by Julia Wise. You can reach her at julia.d.wise@gmail.com with questions, corrections, or suggested resources.
